About APS
APS was founded in New Zealand in 1991, supporting accounting
practices using legacy systems. With growing demand for a
Windows product, APS released Advance for Windows in 1994
and again were first to market with a Microsoft SQL Server
solution for the accounting profession in 1998. The Advance® suite
of products now has 20,000 users in accounting practices
and professional services firms internationally. These include
a number of high profile firms such as KPMG, Deloitte & Touche,
BearingPoint, BDO, PKF and Grant Thornton.
In August 1998, APS launched its Australian operation and
opened an office in Sydney. Our Melbourne office was opened
in early 2001. From a standing start in 1999, APS Australia
now has over 9500 registered users - including over 50 of
the Top 100 accounting firms. In February 1999, APS launched
its UK operation and currently has 11 of the Top 100 UK accounting
firms as clients. The APS management team has over 175 years
of collective experience in the industry.
APS is a subsidiary of Reckon Limited. Reckon is the Asia
Pacific distributor of Quick Books, is listed on the Australian
Stock Exchange, and is 18% owned by Intuit (the 2nd largest
software house in the USA) with a market capitalisation of
over US$10 Billion. In joining Reckon from 1 January 2004,
APS is backed by a successful publicly listed company on

APS commenced operations in New Zealand in 1991 following
the withdrawal of Paxus Professional Systems Ltd from the
accountancy software market. At that
time our initial focus was to support practices using the Paxus (or "RT86")
system. We successfully grew our client base with a reputation for prompt,
effective and friendly service.
