1. What is
Practice IQ?
AdvanceŽ Practice
IQ is a collection of tools based on Microsoft's digital
dashboard technology. It presents key practice information
in tabular or graphical format drawn from line of business
applications such as AdvanceŽ Practice Management,
Microsoft Excel or Word, information from the world
wide web and collaboration tools such as Microsoft
Outlook.
The information is presented in a dynamic web page format and can be
viewed from within Microsoft Outlook or from within a web browser.
The information can be organized in a hierarchical structure thereby
allowing users to "drill down" into the detail if they so wish.
Because we have utilized the very latest in data access technology such
as Microsoft's 2000 OLAP (On line analytical processing) services,
information is updated dynamically as the underlying systems are updated
and reporting performance is optimized.
2. What is OLAP?
Online
Analytical Processing (OLAP) is a technology that uses
multidimensional structures to provide rapid access
to data for analysis. The source data for OLAP is commonly
stored in data warehouses in a relational database
such as Microsoft SQL Server.
3. Can I change
the information and reports shown to fit practice
requirements?
The
AdvanceŽ Practice IQ can be entirely customized to
present information which is of importance to your
practice, whether you wish to focus on financial indicators
such as exceptional WIP levels or ageing, cash collections
or debt, overdue or over budget tasks or clients that
are having a birthday this week.
Other important practice information can also be included in the Practice
IQ, procedure documents such as employee handbooks can be easily accessed,
the ability to generate business forms such as request for leave or purchase
orders can be generated.
In effect the AdvanceŽ Practice IQ becomes your practice's Intranet.
With AdvanceŽ Practice Management as the underlying system, the AdvanceŽ Practice
IQ system delivers the right information, to the right people in your
practice at the right time.
4. Can I use
Excel to further analyse the data?
Selecting
the Export to Excel option takes the report in its
current view to Excel. All dynamic links are kept to
the data and it is even possible to save, close and
reopen the Excel workbook with the continuation of
these links. |
