Reckon Limited trading as Quicken Australia,
is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange
(ASX symbol RKN).
Quicken was founded in 1987 and in 1993 Quicken commenced republishing and
distributing "Quicken" software products under a licensing agreement
with Intuit.
In 1997 it entered into long term license agreements with Intuit pertaining
to both online and software publishing rights. In 1998, Quicken launched its
Online Financial Services business as well as its software operations in Singapore
and New Zealand.
In 2000, Australian businesses faced a major challenge with the introduction
of the GST. Quicken has helped, thousands of businesses across Australia transition
smoothly to the new system.
Looking at Quicken’s performance throughout 2003 has seen revenue grow
by 13% and net profit after tax by 135% - a result reflected in strong share
price performance.
